THE BEST OF THE BEST: MASTERS EDITION
There's no denying that Masters week officially kicks off the golf season for any golf "normies".
Which also means we got FLOODED with content this week on all things Augusta so here are my awards for the Best of the Best Masters content.
LIKE BUTTAH!
Posted on The Masters official account and linked here from Zire—this was my favorite piece of Tiger hype content hands down. Narrowly edging out the odds-on favorite "I Do" video where Tiger answers the question of whether he thinks he can win this weekend.
But the shot composition, atmospheric sound and dare I say ELEGANCE of the pured fairway shot is a masterpiece.
<Please note, Day 1 in the books and El Tigre is under par. It's happeninggggg!!!>
SPIETH TO HIDEKI "DIS MENU IS FYYYRE!!" (OR WHATEVER HE SAID)
Hideki dropped a flawless menu for his Masters dinner this week. Which would've earned an honorable mention on its own. Miso Glazed Cod... as the SECOND COURSE?!
But Jordan Spieth's press conference reaction to it was beyond relatable as it closely mirrors my own reaction to a surprise mid-week Domino's order by my wife.
"They're going to have to cart me outta here." - Jordan (and Scott)
EVERYONE'S FAVORITE FRIEND
Pure.
Unfiltered.
Joy.
DALY ON THE PROWL
I thought about what to write here and then remembered my caption for Max Homa last week and, honestly, I'm so distracted with Masters coverage right now that I'm double-dipping!
A man of the people, always.
Never change.
FRANKIE "L33T-WOOD"
Shoutout to all my gamers out there with the L33T reference. To anyone who doesn't game, don't bother looking up. It's just nerdy word play.
Frankie Fleetwood is my "I'm a new father who wants their son to play golf so badly so I'll just watch pro golfers interact with their own children on repeat until I tear up" submission this week.
An absolute star with the backwards hat and blissful unawareness that he's full-on sprinting across one of the most hallowed golf courses in the world.
Ah, youth.
A FOREVER FAN
Allow me to introduce the latest member of the Bad Birdie fan Mount Rushmore.
Joining Bruce Bibb (our pro-am winner from the Phoenix Waste Management Open) is Russell DiRaimo.
My man hit me up last week with this mind-bogglingly badass pic showing off his latest tattoo.
Including in his message,
"Hopefully not a trademark issue...as it is permanent (and I won’t cut my arm off…)"
Bottoms up, Russ!
