To the mooooooon!

 THE GREATEST BUNKER EVER PLAYED

It was 50 years ago when astronaut Alan Shephard teed it up on the moon. Proudly and publicly proclaiming to ground control that he hit it "miles and miles and miles" and privately thinking to himself, who the f&%# is ever going to prove me wrong.

Well Shep, the internet continues to be undefeated as image analyst Andy Saunders checked the tape, ran the numbers and proved that the shot actually traveled closer to... 40 yards.

That said, I feel Alan Shephard doesn't get nearly enough love in the golf community for not only making golf the first and only interplanetary sport but also for this gem of a quote when he discussed with Congress why he chose to golf on the moon—

"I did this since I am patriotic and concerned about the security of the nation."

 And we salute you!

TPC Sawgrass: The 17th

 ISLAND HOPPING

The Players arrives at TPC Sawgrass this weekend, marking exactly one year since the 2020 tournament was shut down after the first day—because COVID. Sorry Hideki...

And it wouldn't be TPC Sawgrass week without paying respects to the infamous 17th island green. They say 100,000-120,000 golf balls are lost each year in the lake.

And someone has to pull em up...

My man, Gordon Davis, has made an entire career off our misfortune—becoming one of Florida's premiere Professional Golf Ball Divers. Florida... Florida... Florida... you always surprise and amaze me.

And every artisan deserves an apprentice to help their legacy live on. So allow me to formally introduce BBTV's own Krooks Boepka.

LOCKER ROOM TALK WITH BUTCH

This story comes courtesy of the fellas over at Barstool's Fore Play golf podcast.

Butch gives us a little peek behind the scenes about what the locker room banter is like between Tiger and Phil—and tbh, it doesn't sound too different than the kind of banter at our local tourneys.

They really are just like us!

Today on Golf Reddit

 SIMULATORS ARE OVERRATED ANYWAYS

Wow. I mean the dedication and vision to throw up this net between some trees in his backyard is legendary.

The distance back from the net he's standing, the oblivious child hanging out nearby and the completely unprotected street in the background leads me to believe that this is not the last Golf Reddit post we will be seeing from this man as the blooper reel and property damage can NOT be far behind.

Until then, grip and rip it!

Plucked fresh from our feed...

 BADDEST BIRDIE OF THE WEEK

"Sir, is there anything I need to know about in this bag?" - TSA Agent

"Yes, an ILLEGAL amount of swag." - @joey.coldcuts

 1) The dramatic reveal as the TSA agent steps away

 2) The orange pants with the coordinating polo—at an airport!

 3) The long sleeve layer in case he catches a little draft mid-flight

 4) The half-dazed, half-frantic amount of looking around
