“I feel like I have been unloading things off my shoulders all season, like taking water buckets out of my bag. I think I can finally get a good night’s sleep now.” - Tom Kim after winning a gold medal at the Asian Games and earning his military exemption. I mean can you IMAGINE playing golf with that kind of stuff on your mind every time you play?? I'm out here playing golf after receiving literally any text on any subject... and that alone leads to 50/50 chance of a pull hook.
Who should round out the squad?
ELITE VIBES FROM MOTOR CITY GC

The latest expansion franchise for this year's TGL is Motor City Golf Club representing Detroit. And the first two signings have me on high alert for an all-time vibes team.
Brooks Koepka. Jackson Koivun.
Now, the risk continues to be whether or not they will actually care enough about TGL to be the best version of themselves... but after watching Jackson in the Presidents Cup strutting around with the swagger of a player MUCH older and seasoned than he is... I'm pumped.
And it got me thinking about who else I'd suggest they sign to complete an all-vibes foursome—here are my top five picks.
Tyrrell Hatton—As LIV continues its slow crawl to obscurity, Tyrrell would be an elite add. He's fiery but also would thrive I think in the casual TGL environment. I could see the anger toned down and cheekiness cranked up to an 11.
Si Woo Kim—The dude is a goof and love seeing him get fiery at Presidents Cup matches. Could be a nice complement to the Koepka/Koivun duo.
Jordan Spieth—Mostly for the memes as we check in with Jordan to find him on the side of an enormous cliff thanks to the entirely digital course. Would be fun to watch him and JT chirping one another too.
Ryo Hisatsune—My guy. He's a riot. Killer personality and truly just an excuse to get him on TV in front of as many people as possible.
Jason Day—The swag king. Who wouldn't love a little Australian accent thrown into the mix. Wouldn't shy away from making full use of the hot mics.
Wildlife on the Course Alert
DON'T MIND THE TRAMPLED ROUGH

I've seen most wildlife situations on course by this point—writing Breakfast Balls for six years and obsessing over the most niche animal meets golf content possible. But I have to say, this is a first.
TikTok user @ec.golfs posted this from a round in Colorado where a herd of elk stormed through the frame as he teed off.
Jealous beyond belief. Elk are no joke too, big animals so that must've sounded pretty intense for how close they are to the box. I miss seasons too, it's been probably a decade or more since I played golf with fall color. Such a vibe.
If only golf wasn't so popular...
FATHER-SON GOALS

For all my golf parents out there, head over to Instagram and give @oshai_golfs a follow. It features 22 month old Oshai who's out here just grinding with his dad on wide open, pristine fall golf Michigan courses.
And I watch these videos insanely jealous...
Not because his son already has a pure swing.
Not because he's got better style than I've had at any point in my life.
Not because he's playing crisp, autumn golf.
I am jealous because I don't see another soul in these videos and it gets me yearning for the before golf boom days where even in Southern California you could get on solid courses day of. Versus now where Torrey Pines has a couple dozen people lined up at dawn to sneak onto the back nine...
Stained Glass Golf Art
HANG IT IN THE LOUVRE

I try hard to curate my algorithm to surface these kind of deep cuts.
Meet Magz Yang, a Southern California based artist and golfer who makes these pretty sick looking stained glass pieces of golf settings. This one obviously stopped me in the scroll since it's down the street from me and even has the peek through section at the top to see the hang gliders sailing by.
Always a fan of the weird and ambitious minds in golf and Magz certainly meets the mark. Go check out her shop for the full portfolio as I furiously Google how much one of these even costs...
