"There’s only one TOUR Championship winner, but we figured there was no reason Scottie should have to celebrate alone. We wanted to give everyone who shares his name a fun way to join in on the excitement.” — Mike Julian, SVP of Social Golf Operations at Five Iron Golf on the 30 minute complementary sessions they are giving out until Sept 7th for anyone named Scottie. Rumors are they are allowing Scotts in as well. <Googles nearest Five Iron. Sees it's Vegas. Sighs.>

One of these YouTube launches was not like the other

THE KEVIN HART v. LEBRON FEUD CONTINUES

I've been puzzled for months now about this strange, manufactured feud going on between Kevin Hart and Lebron in golf. And that feud just entered its next chapter as one week after Lebron launched his golf YouTube channel... Kevin Hart launched his.

Now, one of these guys launched with a trip to Scotland with the 2016 NBA Champions... and the other shot a 132. There's a niche for everyone it seems.

The broader trend I find most interesting is the shift from celebrities and athletes to jump into YouTube. I can almost hear them wondering, hmmm, if this random person can amass this many viewers... imagine what someone who already has fans could do... And for Kevin and Lebron, for now at least, it's working. Lebron's first video is at 2.7M views with Kevin's already at 1.7M.

WTGL Rosters Announced

POWER RANKING MY POTENTIAL FANDOM

The official rosters of the inaugural five WTGL teams have been announced and since we have no real history with these teams at all, my potential allegiance is wide open. So here is my quick ranking of the squads based on how likely I am to enjoy rooting for them.

5. Boston Common Golf
Céline Boutier, Chizzy Iwai, Megan Khang, Lottie Woad, and Ina Yoon. Tough group personality wise. Megan or maybe Lottie is carrying this team and especially compared to some of the stars on the other squads, it'll be an uphill battle.

4. Atlanta Drive
Charley Hull, Minjee Lee, Andrea Lee, Yuka Saso, and Nataliya Guseva. Charley obviously would be the draw team personality wise, and Minjee is a stacked vet with plenty of wins under her belt.

3. Los Angeles Golf Club
Michelle Wie West alone puts them in contention and Kiara Romero is a super talented up and comer from Oregon and turned pro just last month. They're joined by Alison Lee, Aki Iwai and Gaby Lopez.

2. Motor City Golf Club
Plenty of familiar star power on this squad between Brooke Henderson, Lexi Thompson, and Jeeno Thitikul. So easy to imagine them in contention each week. They're joined by Albane Valenzuela and Ruoning Yin.

1. New York Golf Club
Stacked. Youngest golfer ever to reach world #1 and LPGA Hall of Famer Lydia Ko leads this group. Rose Zhang and Danielle Kang are certainly household names and super likable characters. And they're joined by Linn Grant who can hit the ball a MILE and young phenom Yana Wilson.

And the WTGL quiz agreed!

JAPAN DEFINITELY UNDERSTANDS THE ASSIGNMENT

"Another scorcher out there. Cool." - Figured I'd lead off with an incredibly obscure Sears Air Conditioner commercial from the 90s to tee this one up. Google "Sears Another Scorcher Commercial" and thank me later.

The actual story here is a series of golf carts at a country club in Japan that have INDIVIDUAL AC units located above every passenger, each activated as soon as you sit down.

Let me say, from someone who just endured an Amazon jungle level of humidity in San Diego for the past few weeks... (A statement made with no hyperbole as I saw an infographic somewhere on social media supporting this... an infallible source and I digress.) ...air conditioning is a complete life force for me now. I'm an unapologetic summer hater and get me to autumn breezes and pumpkin spice lattes ASAP.
