Netflix is back for more golf 

GOLF—BUT MAKE IT DRAMA

Fresh from Deadline is news that Netflix has purchased a straight to series order for a golf DRAMA from Emmy nominee Connor Hines, the creator of FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. 

As of now, all we know is the concept of the show since nothing has been cast yet but the deets sound pretty juicy...

Loosely inspired by real golfers and celebrities, the series is set on the ultra-exclusive Jupiter Island where the privileged world of professional golfers and their wives fractures when a mysterious outsider arrives — and a secret threatens golf’s reigning power couple.

It's giving me a little Friends & Neighbors, the Apple TV drama starring Jon Hamm but sprinkle in some golf-adjacent activities and probably plenty of scenes of picturesque courses around Florida.

TOUR TESTED PERFORMANCE

Absolutely wild story about Collin Morikawa ahead of The Open this week.

Tour pros are always tinkering with their equipment and swapping in clubs here and there based on course setup. Maybe throw in a long iron instead of an extra wedge for tight windy tracks. But this one takes the cake for testing said equipment.

The story is that Collin wanted to figure out what irons would work best on the tight, firm fairways at The Open and so to put them to the ultimate test... he hit them off a cart path at his home club. (An excuse I plan to use any time I find myself on a cart path mid-round.)

The idea is that by hitting on the cart path, he could see the wear marks on the sole and therefore figure out which grind offered him the most consistent strikes when the ground is super firm.

Psycho behavior. And I love it.

While the American Century took place last weekend, had to pay respects to one of my favorite comedic minds who paid the Golf Channel a little visit during the broadcast... Larry David.

And in true Larry fashion, he was curmudgeonly and clearly obligated by contract to appear so he was in rare form. So much so I had to power rank my favorite quotes of the interview.

On being asked for years to attend the event and finally relenting...

"I finally I just said, okay what the hell, ya know, I'll come. And I so regret it."
