"I did just start wanting to get into betting on golf... I'm getting kind of obsessed with it." - said every golfer I've ever known, sure. But TWIST! This was actually a quote from Kate Hudson.

Another Day, Another Private Club I Dream of Joining

BILLIONAIRES BE BILLIONAIRING

Full transparency... I can't keep up with the number of new premium golf experiences popping up these days. Every week it feels like I'm hearing an announcement for a new stay and play golf resort in middle of nowhere <insert state here>.

Well, this week was no different as @birdiehouses on IG profiled a new private club opening outside of Dallas called Freestone Club. The club is being built on the largest privately owned lake in the country. Yes, the owner purchased a lake in Texas, beat an eminent domain claim from the state, and then closed a state park to make this happen—truly peak billionaire behavior.

Putting aside my own thoughts on how this club came to be, the amenities appear to be pretty elite. 18 hole championship course with 14 holes on an island. A short course across the lake. Each designed by the guy behind Tiger's Payne Valley course. And all courses are accessible by dockside parking.

The rest of the property includes fishing, boating, skeet shooting, pools, and capped off by a wiffle ball stadium. The cost of entry? $5 milly per house. Oof.

The #1 Board in Golf.

KICK FLIP, THEN FLOP SHOT

I won't pretend that I can skateboard. In fact, I only tried it once in my life when I was in 5th grade. Immediately slipped on it, landed on my tailbone, and swore to never try it again. I'm proud to say that I kept that promise.

BUT that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a pretty sweet golf crossover moment when I see one. Pro skateboarder, Alex Midler, released a limited run of these Disorder V1 skateboards this week and the idea was so good it actually had me pause and consider buying one to hang on an office wall.

From the font script to the Disorder V1 stamping, a top notch crossover clearly executed by someone who knows golf. And it did get me wondering if you could golf and ride around on one of those motorized skateboards.

ALERT: Highly Satisfying Golf Course Maintenance Content

THIS IS ART

Did I ever think, after experiencing my two sons' hyper-fixations with trucks, that I would share in that passion for construction? Absolutely not. "Oh, you know, they just like big trucks because they're so little. Or something," I'd say.

Then I saw this video posted by Callum McKie.

It's several minutes long and, in the era of Tiktok, I watched every second of it. Callum is out here using an excavator like it's a paint brush as he shapes this bunker. He's even got little attachments to the scoop that turn it into a verifiable Swiss army knife.

Highly worth the watch, and just as user callmurf dropped in the comments. "This is art".

OMG That's So Random... Golf Club

IT'S A MAD SCRAMBLE—AND YOU'RE INVITED

Longtime readers know I appreciate and celebrate anyone in golf who is down to try something new. Layer on top a quirky format—and you've hooked me 10/10 times.

Well, for those who may not know already, let me introduce you to the Mad Scramble Tour from Random Golf Club.

The quick pitch? Ninety Nine Players. Nine Holes. One Score. That's right, everyone tees off and then the group plays the best ball... of 99 players.

Truly just peak vibes. Imagine how much fun you have in a normal scramble—but then multiple it by like 25 as everyone celebrates the success of everyone because you're all on the same team.

And I bring this up because we're sponsoring the Tour and there are still two legs left to get in on.

The Midwest Loop kicks off from June 19th in St. Louis through July 1st in Minneapolis. Followed by the West Coast Wave from August 7th in Denver through September 5th in Austin. (And an August 29th stop in San Diego at one of my local favorites Goat Hill).

It's truly a golf experience like no other and now is the time to get in!
