ALL EYES ON PEBBLE

There is no other story this week than the US Women's Open visiting Pebble for the very first time.

I watched more pre-round coverage this week than I do for the Masters and I've been trying to put my finger on why this tournament feels so much more epic. Easy answer is the venue. Or the fact that the PGA Tour is visiting Silvis, a city that might as well be the name of my SIM City back in the 90's.

But to the USGA's credit, the content has been incredible.

The hype palpable.

And having a founding member of the Bad Birdie Mount Rushmore in the field is certainly noteworthy.

LFG KRISSY!

Speaking of BB Mount Rushmore

KRISSY WATCH '23

It's no secret we rep hard for Krissy Carman, the US Women's Mid-Am Champ and newly hired assistant coach for the University of Oregon Ducks.

quack-quack-Quack-Quack-QUACK-QUACK!!! Wait, wrong Ducks franchise.

Anyways, I have to admit that, entering this week, I had only Carl Spackler's words running through my mind. "What an incredible Cinderella story. This unknown (to non-Bad Birdie faithful!) comes out of nowhere to lead the pack."

And she's got some serious fight in her to make this cut! Birdies on 4, 6, and 7. Come on, Krissy! You got this!!

Rose being Rose

DRIPPIN' SWAGU

Click through the image above to catch this video if you haven't already seen. It's from a practice round at Pebble this week where Rose drops a dart onto the par 3 7th.

The crucial detail missing from my recap? Her tee flips up from her tee shot and lands directly into her back pocket.

I mean, Rose has REALLY stormed onto the scene, already earning top billing tee time with the LPGA's best in a primetime pairing with Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson.

But then she goes and drops this iconic clip? AND has the swaggalicious audacity to comment on Callaway's IG page "wait whaaaa??"

I'm going to really enjoy watching Rose become a superstar.

LPGA Superlatives

MOST LIKELY TO... HAVE MOONLIT AS AN ACTRESS ON AN EARLY 90'S KIDS SHOW

Haru Namora

It's the crossed arms for me.

Can't you just imagine her in the opening credits, laughing with someone just off screen, some light to moderate hijinks happening like a dog that ate their homework or a kitchen with cake frosting smeared over everything.

The music swells as she realizes there's an entire studio audience and crew of 85 people filming her, she turns to the camera and throws her hands up in the air like "What are ya gonna do?"

Classic, Haru.

(SIDE NOTE - expect a lot more where this came from on the new Threads feed! Drop @badbirdiegolf a follow—we got THREADS and @s_flu is my personal - come say hey!

GOLF ZEN BY KORDA

Newest fragrance at Macy's or just an incredible time lapse of golf's most perfect swing?

Look, sometimes the comment section is a depressing wasteland of idiocy. And other times...

"Studying this for the next 48 hours" - Yep

"Purest swing in golf. Period." - Yep

"I need a poster of this" - Yep

"So fluid and smooth" - Ye
