Welp, there's been a development here at the Bad Birdie Scott household...
Absolute thrilled to announce that at 11p on Monday, my wife and I welcomed a new member to our family (and Bad Birdie clan)—Meet Jack!
Until I can get a more golf-appropriate pic of the little guy, I felt that the footage of Harry Higgs' and Joel Dahmen's uhhh "body types" from the WMPO offered the best visualization of my little chunker.
Plenty of new dad anecdotes to come and if these first few days of sleep deprivation are any indication—there will be PLENTY of completely unhinged content as well.
LET THERE BE HAIL!
Imma let you finish PGA Tour for your truly solid caption paired with the hail at Riv footage from Tuesday—"Riv on the rocks".
But the coincidence of it being GENESIS Open week the same week that my little Jack-Jack was born... is pretty epic. Layer on the fact that one section into my first BB as a dad I've already tried to reference THE BIBLE in relation to my son... oh the wheels are definitely coming off.
From God to the GOATs
MULTIVERSE MJ CHALLENGES TIGER
Imagine a world where Michael Jordan grew up wanting to chase down Tiger Woods as golf's GOAT!
Golf Digest referenced their old post highlighting all of MJ's best golf-related moments—the article still hits.
Re: multiverse golf MJ—I only really like this scenario if I could also know that there was another multiverse Michael Jordan who still brought 6 rings to my beloved Chicago Bulls. But for golf's sake this will give me plenty to daydream about as I try to figure out if there is a single person on the face of the planet who can properly wrap a swaddle around an infant.
Saudi Tour rumors arrive like a sandstorm
GROWN MEN ACTING LIKE BABIES
I'll preface my Saudi Tour thoughts with the note that no one at all seems to know any actual facts about what's happening with the Saudi Tour poaching PGA pros.
BUT that doesn't mean I can't roast these guys anyways.
Obviously the Bryson rumors make too much sense as he continues to position himself as the "different for the sake of being different" voice on the Tour. So sure, makes sense he'd consider an eye-popping figure to join but, to me, it's just another opportunity for grabbing headlines and I think we would all immediately forget Bryson if he jumped ship.
The real news this week was some, frankly, insane takes out of Phil regarding the Saudi Tour that came courtesy of a great interview with the Fire Pit Collective (check these guys out—they're doing great work).
Apparently, Phil is deciding to dance a razor thing tightrope when it comes to seriously considering joining the fledgling tour.
“They’re scary motherf***ers to get involved with,” Mickelson said. “We know they killed [Washington Post reporter and U.S. resident Jamal] Khashoggi and have a horrible record on human rights."
“Knowing all of this, why would I even consider it? Because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reshape how the PGA Tour operates.”
<GAMESHOW BUZZER>
Love you Phil, but NOPE. HARD NOPE. Any analysis that begins with, yeah these guys are like super scary and awful human beings... but man would this be a great chance to stick it to the PGA Tour? GTFO Phil. And if that's what you really want, then deuces... hope those Mizzen and Main polos comes with SPF 1000 coating and a personal A/C unit.
I mean this take... is like if I tried to join some insane murderous gang because I wanted Bad Birdie to start paying for my cell phone bill. They ain't biting.
