The PGA TOUR and Chipotle Mexican Grill announced Wednesday a new marketing partnership that designates Chipotle as the "Official Mexican Restaurant" of the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions.

And they didn't stop there. Shutting the door on any clever chains looking to claim specific dishes, Chipotle also locked down the "Official Burrito, Bowl, Tacos and Quesadilla."

Leaving the Official Chalupa, Crunchwrap, Gordita Crunch, and Nachos... WIDE OPEN. Go get 'em Taco Bell.

THE SANDLOT—BUT MAKE IT GOLF
For those of us average golfers out there, how many times have you sent one a touch off-line into a neighborhood backyard, ringed by a relatively low fence, and wondered if you could sprint to grab it before anyone noticed?

That's essentially the plot of this golf Reddit find which features our hero leaping a fence into a dirt-covered backyard before sprinting to retrieve his ball. The difference? He found himself getting chased by a Rottweiler looking dog, Sandlot-style.

Which got me (and the intern ChatGPT) thinking—in a world of reboots and nostalgia-fueled twists, why not turn this viral video into a movie pitch?

One unforgettable summer, a crew of overconfident neighborhood kids ditch baseball for their local muni course. Everything’s fun and games until the unthinkable happens: they slice a priceless Tiger Woods–signed golf ball into the most terrifying backyard in town.

Legend says no ball ever comes back as its guarded by one of the most ferocious looking dogs in town. Armed with homemade contraptions and hair-brained plans, the boys launch a series of increasingly ridiculous rescue missions.

What unfolds is a laugh-out-loud, heart-on-its-sleeve adventure about friendship, fear, and learning that legends aren’t just on the course — sometimes they’re in your crew.

I don't hate it.

Project X: Tiger-Style?

THE GOAT TURNS 50
There's no better litmus test as to whether something is Breakfast Balls-worthy than a golf story on NY Post.

The topic this week? Tiger's 50th Birthday Bash.

More specifically, RED: Celebrating Legacy presented by EY US. Yes, Tiger's 50th birthday celebraish is not only titled something but also has a presenting sponsor, accounting firm formerly known as Ernst & Young.

His actual birthday however was back on December 30th so this event is also a celebration of his charity's 30th anniversary—but the bit is much funnier when you think it's only his birthday.

For those wondering why I chose the image above, it's because Bon Jovi will be performing for the 300 guests told to wear "a touch of red."

The night's menu will be inspired by his five Masters Champion dinners which could mean anything from sushi to lobster to fajitas to cheeseburger and fries.

All in all feels like a solid night and for a NY Post article, I was expecting some more juicy deets. Weirdest nugget was maybe the inclusion of Michael Strahan on the 300 person guest list but hey, celebs be hangin'. So maybe they're boys.

The indoor experiment continues...

WGTL COMING TO A SCREEN NEAR YOU
Hot on the heels of some pretty sad ratings news from weeks 1 and 2 of TGL—seeing steep declines from the league premiere last year. (Caveat also being Tiger played in week two and it was up against football...).

We get some exciting news for season three as the LPGA and TMRW Sports announced that there will be a Women's TGL beginning in the winter of '26 and into '27.

Exact details are fairly limited at this time with no specific teams or rosters mentioned. Though they had Lexi Thompson on the broadcast playing a hole so one could only assume she'll be on board.

And while the leagues will remain separate, there are a few quotes indicating that a co-ed league or format are still very much on the table. A wrinkle I think could set TGL apart a bit more and continue pushing it into a golf format all its own.

THE EARLY LEADER FOR GOLF ARTIST OF THE YEAR
I get targeted for a lot of terrible stuff on Instagram.

But dang it if they didn't get me big time with this one.

Let me introduce you to Muir Way. They create a whole bunch of cool art that would look perfect in my non-existent man cave. But what caught my eye was the series featured above—3D relief pieces of famous golf courses.

AND for a slightly higher fee, they can create a custom one for any golf course. Talk about a gift or piece of memorabilia to remember a milestone round by!

I love a good 3D topographical map and remember thinking this globe I got when I was like 10 was the coolest thing ever because the mountains actually rose out of the surface so you could feel just how rocky the Rocky Mountains were.

This is that—but make it Augusta.

Super cool and I always love to shout out people doing unique and interesting things in golf so definitely check them out and email me if you need my home address to send a Bandon Dunes or Torrey Pines one.
