NAME A BETTER DUO—I'LL WAIT
You heard it right, the gang from Stars Hollow is getting a new neighbor... Greg Norman and the Monstars of the LIV Tour.
This week, LIV finally got their TV deal. And it's actually a huge deal.
Ah, the difference a year can make. From being rated just above Uranium on the list of things to not come within 10 miles of, to sharing a network with the fast-talking, folksy Gilmore Gals and the minds that brought you the Animaniacs—LIV finally has an actual broadcast strategy.
Why would The CW do this? You ask. Welp, let me present this quote from Nextstar COO (the company that owns The CW).
“As many of you are aware, The CW is currently the lowest-rated broadcast network, which we believe largely reflects the fact that its programming is targeted for an 18-to-34 audience demographic, while the average age of the CW broadcast viewer is 58 years.”
So there's that.
FootJoy: A Glove for All
FootJoy + Lacoste tee shirt + the cig barely hanging on for dear life = Phil Rudd, the golf rock God?
Also, this brings up an interesting thought I am formulating as we speak...
There's Yacht Rock.
Does anyone want to help me develop Golf Rock?
Do we pitch this idea to Phil Rudd?
What's our clarinet-style instrument surprise? Piccolo? Timpani? Chimes?
Let's circle back on this one.
FARGIVING. A DAMN GOOD AD.
Elegantly simple.
If you haven't caught TaylorMade's latest launch video for the Stealth 2, take the next 30 seconds to watch.
I mean this is just top notch comedy.
For those too lazy to click, basically they coined the term "Fargiving" to imply the driver goes far and is forgiving. But melded it PERFECTLY into Rory's Irish accent pronouncing the word forgiving as fargiving.
From there, it takes a "Who's on First?" turn with Morikawa and Tiger.
Really great work here out of TM and their creative agency Zambezi.
MEET LPGA ROOKIE ALEXA PANO
Meet the first LPGA pro to ever be sponsored by an NFL team.
Alexa Pano.
The story here is that Alexa started wearing the Patriots logo early in her career. (Turns out people call their logo a Flying Elvis? A name as perplexing and infuriating for non-Patriots fans as it was watching Tom Brady for all those seasons.)
Now 18 years old (insert exploding head emoji here) she will be continuing her pro career as an officially sponsored athlete for the franchise.
Leaving the obvious follow up... great, now how on Earth is Belicheck gonna turn this into another title?
THE GAME THAT WILL GET ME BACK INTO GAMING
Absolutely massive details dropped this week about the new EA Sports PGA Tour game slated to release a few weeks before The Masters. (Fantastic timing.) Details so massive that it has me considering resurrecting my short-lived gaming craze in 2019.
THE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Course list including all major championship venues from 2022 and soon to include all 2023 major tracks too. Augusta, Riv, Bandon, Chambers Bay, St. Andrews—elite stuff.
- Career mode allows you to start as an Amateur, working your way through the lower level circuits—or just skip straight to the big leagues. Up to you.
- Playable pros include Scheffler, Xander, Finau, Spieth, Korda, Kang and Lexi. Play with 'em or against 'em.
I'm.
Pumped.
